I think you should watch it. I think you should watch the start to fma 2003 and then continue at about episode 10 or something on fmab. The start to fmab is rushed while 2003 introduces everything perfectly. Everything else on fmab is really good and has an amazing final arc. Not sure where you are supposed to stop 2003 and start fmab though.
